Thank you for joining us at the 2024 Annual Conference in Greensboro, NC; not only did SERC-NAHRO members work hard and take valuable information back to their agencies and communities, but we also snuck in a lot of fun and fellowship as well.

During our annual awards luncheon, we first took a moment to congratulate Housers from across the SERC region upon their retirement and also to remember Housers who we lost over the last year. Additionally, the SERC-NAHRO Awards committee presented their annual awards to celebrate the accomplishments and impact of SERC-NAHRO members.

SERC-NAHRO is the largest volunteer-led region of NAHRO; through the work of our various committees, we are able to impact our member agencies, our residents, and the affordable housing industry. To celebrate the end of another amazing conference, SERC-NAHRO was encouraged to come dressed as their favorite decade, and as per usual, SERC did not disappoint!

The Emerging Leaders took the lead in welcoming attendees to the Annual Conference. Attendees were invited to come in and meet their fellow conference attendees while listening to great music, sharing delicious food, and maybe striking a dance move or two.

The Executive Committee was able to come together to visit the International Civil Rights Center and Museum located in the historic Woolworths storefront in downtown Greensboro. Attendees were given the opportunity to participate in a guided tour and take in the history and lived experiences shared.

The impact of legislation is apparent within affordable housing; during our annual legislative breakfast, we took a moment to review current legislation that could affect our agencies and residents as well as lay the groundwork for an outstanding August Advocacy Month!

This year the SERC-NAHRO Emerging Leaders were tasked with producing our Opening Session. The incorporation of games and giveaways got attendees energized and excited for the excellent conference to come.

The SERC-NAHRO Executive Committee had the opportunity to come together and kick-off their committee meetings with some food, fun, and fellowship. Attendees were able to bowl, play billiards, or try their hand at the shuffleboard.

Each year SERC-NAHRO provides scholarships to deserving residents from throughout the SERC region. The SERC Scholarship committee is tasked with raising funds for these scholarships so these students can fulfill their dreams. This year conference attendees could participate in the 50/50 raffle, state basket raffle, or the fan favorite award of the What Home Means to Me poster contest.

Thank you to the fantastic speakers from this year’s conference; not only were your sessions knowledgeable and insightful, but they inspired, energized, and motivated our housers to take these strategies and information back to their agencies!

Join us in congratulating our agency’s youth for their participation in the What Home Means to Me Poster Contest. Young artists from across the SERC Region had their artwork selected from state competitions to be displayed and judged at the SERC Annual Conference.

Thank you for joining us at the Annual TAHRA/KHA Conference in Louisville, Kentucky. This conference was an excellent opportunity for TAHRA Housers to come together for a time of education and training to develop skills and strategies they can now apply to their individual agencies.

The Awards Luncheon is an opportunity for SERC to come together and celebrate each other's success. This year, three committees honored agencies with varying awards to recognize their achievements in addition to SERC-NAHRO honoring one new Lifetime Member and two Distinguished Service Members.

After a very productive conference, SERC came together to celebrate in style!

In culmination of the Scholarship Committee's 50/50 fundraiser state representatives strutted the runway in their best Masquerade looks. After a quick Q and A session with our contestants, our state representatives took to the audience to collect as many beads as possible.

This year SERC NAHRO was treated to an excellent selection of educational sessions.

The 2021 Opening Session was chaired by Gerald Board (Eddyville, KY). In SERC tradition, the Opening session began with the Parade of Flags from all 10 states from within the SERC NAHRO region.

Sunday evening attendees were invited to a reception to come together and celebrate the beginning of the 2021 Conference.
